In my blog of September 20, 2018, I spoke about the fact that I have Windows 10 users still using Internet Explorer. Well, today, I want to update that post a bit. I want to mention that not using IE isn’t limited to just Windows 10 users. If you have Windows 7 or Windows 8.1, you also need to stop using it. (You should also start thinking about a new computer so you can catch up with the rest of us! Don’t forget to check with us before you buy as we get some great computer deals!)
Here’s the gist of what I said:
In today’s Internet world, security is primary. Unfortunately, Internet Explorer – which has been around since August, 1995 – is no longer secure enough to keep you safe online.
Any of the other popular browsers (Firefox, Safari, Google Chrome, Opera) are way more secure than IE. If you’re running Windows 7 or 8.1, please stop using IE and switch to one of the other browsers.
Some customers tell me they don’t want to switch from IE because they’ll lose their Favorites. That’s not the case – you can import your favorites from IE into any other browser you’re using). Also, people simply don’t like change and I get that. Still, it IS TIME to change. Keep an open mind and give one of the other browsers a fair shot. I think you’ll be fine and I know you’ll be safer online.
