What Good Is It…

It happened twice this week.  Two customers who use Carbonite as their online backup had no idea which email they used for their account nor did they know the password!

The idea of online backup is that if something happens to your computer, you’ll be able to recover your data.  That’s a great idea!  I wouldn’t think of operating a computing device without online backup.  However, if you don’t know your user name and/or password for your online backup, that’s a problem.  What good will the backup be if you can’t get to it?

Because Carbonite want’s to protect your data, resetting your password is NOT easy.  They want to make sure they aren’t giving your pictures, documents and other data to a stranger or, worse yet, a hacker.

If you already use Carbonite, please make sure you have its serial # and which credit card you last used to pay for your subscription.  One other thing: you should definitely have two-step authorization in play.

Wait… if you don’t have online backup for your computer(s), you need to get it today!  We’re partners with Carbonite, we use it ourselves, and we think it’s a great product.  Click on the Carbonite logo and buy it today.  If you need help installing it, please let us know – we’ll be happy to help.  (Yes, if you click and purchase, we’ll get a couple of bucks.  But, we’d recommend Carbonite even if we weren’t partners and didn’t make a penny.  What are you waiting for?)
