Parking And Smart Phones

We just got back from Austin and I want to tell you about another smart phone technology we used while away.  When we went into downtown Austin to watch the Chuy’s Children’s Parade (click on the name to visit their website), we used our smart phone to pay for parking.  I simply texted the number that was listed on the sign, then I chose how many hours for which I wanted to initially pay, then filled in my credit card info, took a photo of my license plate and poof! I was done.  I could have also downloaded an app to use instead of texting but since I was only going to use Austin parking one time, I opted for the texting.  I received a warning on my phone when my time was almost up.  I was also given the option of extending my time – all from my smart phone.

Isn’t technology grand?
