Happy Birthday, Rod

Or… How I Used The Internet To Celebrate Rod Stewart’s Birthday

Happy Birthday, Rod Stewart

Today, January 10, 2019 is Rod Stewart’s 74th birthday. In today’s blog post, I’ll explain how I used the Internet to celebrate Rod’s special day.

First, I had to find out that today is his birthday! I did that by visiting a site that lists all the famous birthdays on a particular day. Once I saw his birthday listed for today, I went searching through my Adobe Stock for a nice Happy Birthday picture. (Adobe Stock is not a free service, by the way, but I have a subscription.) Next, I used some software to add Rod’s name to the picture I had downloaded.

Once I had Rod’s birthday picture finished, I started thinking about all the songs he’s done. Immediately, one of my favorites came to mind. I went to YouTube and brought up his “Some Guys Have All The Luck.”

Next, I went to Twitter where I follow Rod and sent him a birthday tweet.

Do I expect to hear back from him? Of course not. He has 433,000 followers and only follows 68 people. Still, I wanted to throw my well-wishes into the hat.

Now, I get that you might not be a Rod Stewart fan or that you might not care that today is his birthday. That’s perfectly okay. My point of this blog post is that you can use the Internet in a myriad of ways. And, you can use the Internet to complete a process – such as wishing a celebrity a happy birthday. The Internet is for more than just email and games. Make use of it!
