Did you know you might be missing important emails because they are being deleted before they ever get to you?
We all know about Spam emails, right? Did you know that all email providers have Spam filters running on their servers? What happens to the emails after they are caught in the Spam filter depends on your account settings. For some providers, these emails are put into an email box called Spam or Junk. But, other email providers simply delete what their software considers Spam and you never see it.
Recently, we’ve had a number of our Comcast/Xfinity customers who have stopped receiving our emails. When we looked into it, we discovered that our emails were being automatically deleted by the Spam filter on Xfinity’s server because their Spam filter inappropriately categorized our email as Spam. If this is happening to our emails, it could be happening with other emails, too.
By default, Xfinity does NOT keep a copy of what it considers Spam, it simply deletes the emails. You should change that setting. You should be the one to decide what is Spam and what is not.
