Facebook has discovered that millions of Facebook, Facebook Lite and Instagram account user passwords were being stored in plain text on Facebook servers. Just like we always tell you, our customers and friends, you should never store your passwords in plain text, without encryption. For a huge entity like Facebook to make this mistake is: a) unbelievable and b) inexcusable.
Although Facebook has indicated they will warn any users who need to change their passwords, I wouldn’t wait for that. My suggestion? If you have an account on any of the three Facebook platforms mentioned above, you should change your password now. By the way, you should use a different, strong password for each of your accounts.
