Speaking Of Screenshots

In our last post (Who Shot Liberty Valance?) we explained how easy it is to take a screenshot in Windows 10. Here’s a screenshot for you:

Screenshot of XFI blocking an affiliate link.

In the picture above, I’ve circled “Access Site” in red. If you are an Xfinity xFI** customer like we are, you might see this screen when you click on an ad. This happens with a number of affiliate ads on our website and on other websites, as well. We’re not sure why this is happening as these are legitimate links that help you get discounts on products from the companies with whom we are affiliated. Oddly, it doesn’t happen on all the ads but just on some.

I just want to bring this to your attention. If you are on our site and an affiliate offer peaks your interest and you receive the above warning, please click “Access Site.” There are NO links on our site that will compromise your device or be dangerous.

We have reached out to Comcast to get an answer as to why this is happening and, hopefully, to get the issue resolved. However, you remember that old saying about companies the size of Comcast, right? “Small cogs can turn big wheels but big wheels turn ever so slowly.” Okay, I’m paraphrasing but you get the point!
